If you plan to visit Michigan and think of gathering up some information on all the best places to visit, you are going to be inundated with advice. That is because you need nearly a year and a day to look at all the things which you will appreciate as a tourist in Michigan.

Anyway, you can easily begin your tourist itinerary by going to Dearborn. Here you are going to see the most fascinating collection of old cars. The Henry Ford Museum has a priceless collection which includes models of cars like the 999 Racer, Ford Mark VI Racer 1948 Tucker, 15 Millionth Model T, Ford Mustang #1, Bugatti Royale, among others. You are also going to be able to see a number of presidential limousines used to drive around the many presidents of the United States. The limos in which Presidents Kennedy, Reagan, Eisenhower and Roosevelt rode are all displayed here. You are also going to see fascinating exhibits which talk to you about the history of aviation with airplane models. The replica of the Wright Flyer can be seen here. Agriculturalists would like to see the exhibits in which the first tractor, Combine, and Plow are exhibited. This museum also has galleries where you can see old clocks, kitchens and three centuries of American jewelry and an exhibit of silverware.

Just right next door to the museum is the Greenfield Village. This is the place to go to enjoy amusements, events and carriages. If you have the inclination and the time, Michigan has many prominent buildings to visit. These include chapels and old schools. See the first light bulb, invented by Thomas Edison at Menlo Park. You would be surprised to know that it is still burning bright even after so many years. For all those who like to walk around ponds full of quacking and honking geese, you have them here. Menlo Park and the village is the best place to take your family for a picnic. Children can enjoy playing on the carousel and delight in the horse barn as well as the train. You can almost spend the whole day exploring the village and have a full fun filled day.

Next on the agenda could be Frankenmuth. Sports enthusiasts are going to enjoy going around the golf links, while the ladies will enjoy the shopping. You can expect to end a perfect day with a chicken dinner. You can relax in the afternoons by going down the river in a paddle boat. The laser show is free and fascinating. You can also choose to spend the night at a hotel or try the Bavarian Inn. There are perfect gardens in Tipton. The Hidden Lake Garden has a good collection of tropical plants. You can have a picnic by the side of the lake or go hiking through the natural woodlands. There are plenty of events held in these gardens throughout the year.

Visitors to Michigan, in the month of August and September have to see the Renaissance Festival. It takes place in Holly. This festival is truly Renaissance in spirit, which means you are going to have mediaeval costumes, sword fighters, comedians, musicians, belly dancers, and jousts on horseback. With all that it promises Michigan is a place where jolly good times are an almost everyday occurrence.
