Furthermore, studies in the past few years showed that at least 25% of students from middle school to college admit to having cheated on their exams for the past school year.

A parent plays an important role in how their child develops his or her vocabulary. Parents that do not spend time teaching a child words and sentences will have a child that does not develop at the same speed as other children. Before a child enters kindergarten, they should have a vocabulary and be able to talk in completed sentences. If a parent does not take the time to talk with the child, the child will not develop socially and emotionally. A parent starts teaching a child how to talk when the child is an infant.

There are tips for parents with a spoiled child that can help make things easier. The first thing a parent needs to understand is why the child is spoiled. Every parent wants to have a happy child and sometimes being to permissive and lenient with a small child can result in the child becoming a bit spoiled and always wanting their way. Temper tantrums and doing what they want to do no matter what you say are signs that the child might have a problem with authority. Saying no to a spoiled child can be difficult if you have always allowed them to have their way.

On my writing desk sits a well worn copy of “50 Simple Things Kids Can Do to Save the Earth”. I consider this one of the best children's books on environmental issues there ever was. My kids used this book for school and home environmental projects. Occasionally, I browse its tattered pages to recall information while writing. In these days of ecological uncertainty, there are many fine children's books on environmental issues. Here are just a few you might want to check out for your children.

Asking open ended questions is an excellent way to facilitate communication. There is another, equally relevant point, which you may not have considered. When you ask open ended questions, you are letting the person know that what he or she thinks is important to you. Although this is true for anyone, it is an especially good way to communicate with children of all ages.

If your child is showing a slight stuttering problem, the same general rule of thumb which covers nearly everything about children is also appropriate to this problem. The rule is that children respond best to positive reinforcement, worse to the negative, and worse yet to pretense. In other words, acting as if it does not exist is one of the most harmful ways you can react to your child's stuttering. Do not assume that he will simply grow out of it, because he may not. Even more important, resist the temptation of thinking that it is not a big deal to your child, because it is probably bothering him much more than you realize. The sooner the problem is addressed, the better it will be for your child.

There are many ways in which you can raise your children. Some parenting methods tend to work well and develop strong, well-developed adults. Other methods, while quite common, are not noted for their emphasis on emotional self-development for the child. Two major styles of parenting are the authoritarian system and the similar, but significantly different, authoritative parenting model.

The greatest danger in trying to raise a shy, sensitive child is in not understanding the actual level of intelligence that creates such behavior. It is a mistake to assume a shy or introverted child is mentally slow. The truth is that they are generally quite intelligent and thoughtful. They can often see the future potential and possible negative effects from a situation and be merely trying to avoid the problems. Sensitive children sometimes have trouble making decisions because they want to know as many of the facts as possible so as to make the right choice.

As the creator of the future inhabitants of earth, it is important to make sure they adopt the proper values and are set on the right path. However, sometimes the methods by which we get to this can be quite harrowing. For instance, take corporal punishment. While corporal punishment has some pros, people might only see the cons, and vice versa.
