When in Alaska, be prepared for a variety of recreational and educational experiences. Many locations of interest will give visitors an endless supply of entertainment and hands-on fun.

Alaska is famous for its national parks. Some of their parks include the Denali National Park, Glacier Bay National Park, Kenai Fjords National Park, Kluane National Park and Wrangell St. Elias National Park.

In Anchorage, you can check out the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum. Inside you'll find everything that documents Alaska’s aviation history.

Another museum to visit is the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center (formerly the Anchorage Museum of History & Art). As the largest museum in Alaska, it displays a variety of works of art by local artists and photographers.

While in Anchorage, be sure to also visit the Alaska Zoo. Here you’ll find polar bears, tigers and seals.

The Elmendorf State Fish Hatchery, also in Anchorage, is another great destination. Operated by the state’s fish and game department, it offers salmon viewing in late May through July, as well as August through mid-September.

The H2Oasis in Anchorage is an indoor waterpark for the water-lover looking for a comfortable environment to take a dip. Besides swimming, you can also visit the Children’s Lagoon where there’s a pirate ship with seven water slides, hurtle down the bigger body slides as high as 23 feet, and take kayak lessons.

The Imaginarium in Anchorage is a hands-on science discovery center that’s a great place for kids to learn all about space, reptiles, marine life and physics.

Not sure of where to go or what to see in Juneau? Visit the Juneau Trolley Car Company and take the famous red trolley tour, where the conductor will narrate special points of interest. There are 13 stops at various locations on this tour and you can purchase an all-day pass that offers unlimited trips on the trolley.

Celebrating the cultural heritage of Juneau, the Juneau-Douglas City Museum will take guests through Alaska’s gold mining history compliments of the Leslie Murray Gallery. Kids will have fun exploring a kid-friendly area of the museum offering educational, interactive exhibits. You’ll be able to learn about life in the Gastineau Channel when you visit the East Gallery.

Pioneer Park in Fairbanks boasts the fact that it is “Alaska’s Only Historic Theme Park.” Formerly called "Alaskaland,” this park was founded by Alaska Pioneers back in the early 1960s to preserve Alaskan history. Additionally, you’ll find rides, museums, shops, eateries, live entertainment and art galleries.

Don't leave the Alaska SeaLife Center off your itinerary. Located in Seward, visitors to the ASLC get to witness the aquatic wildlife of Alaska like never before. Get up close and personal via a window into the sea where you’ll find seals, sea lions, octopus and various other sea animals.

Alaska offers visitors more than hunting, fishing and recreational activities to anyone paying a visit. Stop by the many attractions while you are there to make your stay even more fun and memorable.
